Meridian Flushing

One of the simplest self-care practices there is — free, gentle, and something you can do almost anywhere.

Meridian flushing comes from a tradition that stretches back thousands of years. It's rooted in the idea that our vitality depends not only on the physical body, but on how freely energy moves through it.

What Are Meridians?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), meridians are pathways through which vital energy — called Qi — flows. Together they form a network that has been central to Eastern healing practices for centuries. In this view, when energy flows smoothly through the meridians, we tend to feel balanced and well; when the flow becomes sluggish or blocked, discomfort and imbalance can follow.

What Does "Flushing" Mean?

To "flush" a meridian simply means to gently guide energy along its pathway to help clear and rebalance it. In the traditional practice, energy is moved along the pathway — and the beauty of it is how approachable it is. Unlike many wellness practices, meridian flushing requires no equipment and no cost. It's something you can learn to do for yourself, at home, in a few quiet minutes.

Traditional Benefits

Within the TCM tradition, meridian work has long been used to support a smooth flow of energy, encourage a sense of balance, and invite the body toward ease. Many people simply find the practice calming and centering — a small daily ritual that helps them feel more settled and present. Related approaches you may have heard of, such as acupressure, acupuncture, and gentle movement practices like Qi Gong and Tai Chi, work with these same pathways.

How I Use It

As part of a personalized plan, I can show you how to work with specific meridians in a way that fits your needs, and clients receive a complete, step-by-step guide to practice at home. It's a lovely example of the kind of simple, empowering self-care I love to put back in your hands.
